Drishyam: The Conclusion Opening Weekend: Trackers Put It Between Rs 172 and Rs 176.5 Crore, and Monday Brings the First Drop

Drishyam: The Conclusion has finished its first weekend, and the trackers agree on the shape of it even where they disagree on the total. Every source this post read has Friday and Sunday near Rs 60 crore, a dip on Saturday, and an India net weekend somewhere between Rs 172 crore and Rs 176.5 crore. Monday, the first real weekday, has an early estimate that shows the first sharp fall.

Today is Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Monday's figure is an early estimate and Tuesday's numbers are not in, so nothing below goes past Day 4. Every number is a tracker's estimate, reported separately and attributed. None of them is blended, averaged or declared the correct one.

This follows the site's Day 1 post, which covered the contested opening-day figures and the first reviews, and the earlier advance-booking story.

The weekend, tracker by tracker

Pinkvilla: Rs 172 crore

Pinkvilla, in a report published October 5, puts the first weekend at Rs 172 crore nett approx. Its day-wise breakdown is Rs 61.00 crore on Friday, Rs 52.00 crore on Saturday and Rs 59.00 crore on Sunday, all nett approx. That is the lowest total of the four sources here.

Bollywood Hungama: Rs 174 crore

Bollywood Hungama, also on October 5, reports Rs 62.03 crore on Friday, Rs 50.95 crore on Saturday and Rs 60 crore on Sunday, and gives the opening weekend as Rs 174 crore. One note on the arithmetic: those three day figures add up to Rs 172.98 crore, about Rs 1 crore short of the stated weekend number. The page as read does not explain the difference. Rounding of the Sunday figure or a later revision are the obvious possibilities, but that is a guess and not something the outlet says.

Koimoi: Rs 174.5 crore

Koimoi gives a weekend total of Rs 174.5 crore. I am not citing day-wise figures from Koimoi. Its page description says the film scored "170 crore+," which is a looser way of saying the same thing.

Sacnilk: Rs 176.50 crore

Sacnilk's Day 3 page lists Rs 62 crore for Day 1, Rs 53.50 crore for Day 2 and Rs 61.00 crore for Day 3, all net. The cumulative India net comes to Rs 176.50 crore. The same page shows India gross at Rs 211.80 crore and worldwide gross at Rs 272.80 crore.

Pinkvilla Rs 61.00 cr Rs 52.00 cr Rs 59.00 cr Rs 172 cr
Bollywood Hungama Rs 62.03 cr Rs 50.95 cr Rs 60 cr Rs 174 cr
Koimoi not cited not cited not cited Rs 174.5 cr
Sacnilk Rs 62 cr Rs 53.50 cr Rs 61.00 cr Rs 176.50 cr

The spread from lowest to highest is Rs 4.5 crore, which is roughly 2.6% of the lowest figure. This is the kind of gap Indian box-office tracking routinely produces, and it is worth saying why in general terms. Weekend numbers in the first days are estimates built from partial reporting, and they get revised as more theatre-level data comes in. Different outlets pull from different sources, round differently and update at different times. A few percent either way is normal and does not mean any one tracker is careless.

One more comparison with the Day 1 post. That post reported Friday as Rs 62.00 crore from Sacnilk and Rs 62.03 crore from Bollywood Hungama, with some outlets citing Rs 66.75 crore. The weekend sources above all put Friday at roughly Rs 61 to 62 crore, and none of the weekend pages read here uses the higher figure.

The shape: a Saturday dip, a Sunday recovery

Each tracker's own numbers show the same pattern. Using simple arithmetic on their day-wise figures, Saturday came in at about 85% of Friday on Pinkvilla's numbers, about 82% on Bollywood Hungama's and about 86% on Sacnilk's. Sunday then climbed back to within a few points of Friday: roughly 97% on both Pinkvilla's and Bollywood Hungama's figures, and about 98% on Sacnilk's.

Two of the outlets read here tie the pattern to the holiday opening. Pinkvilla says Sunday registered "a healthy 10-15 per cent jump over Saturday," driven mainly by the Northern, Central and Eastern circuits and Gujarat, which it says had seen higher declines on Saturday after the holiday opening day and rebounded on Sunday. Koimoi says expectations that the film would topple its opening day were "too much to ask, as the opening had a Gandhi Jayanti benefit and hit its peak." What the pattern does show is that the weekend was not front-loaded. A film that peaks on Friday and fades through Sunday is a different commercial story from one that nearly matches its opening day on Sunday, and the trackers agree this was the second kind.

Where the ranking claims land

Two outlets have attached ranking claims to the weekend, and they are not saying the same thing.

Pinkvilla calls the first-weekend figure the third-highest of all time, behind only Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Rs 283.50 crore nett, as Pinkvilla gives it) and Jawan (Rs 177.50 crore nett). It also says the film trails the Hindi version of Pushpa 2, which netted Rs 180 crore. Read together, those two statements are hard to square, since a Rs 180 crore opening ahead of this film would make three titles above it, not two. The page text does not reconcile the two lines, and my guess is that the "third-highest" list and the Pushpa 2 comparison use different definitions, but that is only a guess.

Koimoi makes a different claim. It says the film registered "Bollywood's 8th biggest opening weekend of all time" in India. It also says the film became Ajay Devgn's 7th highest-grossing film of all time, which is Koimoi's claim and one I have not checked against a second source.

These two rankings use different measures and different lists, so they are not directly comparable. A third-highest-ever and an eighth-biggest-ever claim are not a contradiction, and I am not choosing between them. What both outlets agree on is the broad point: this is a very large opening by any recent standard.

Against the earlier films

Bollywood Hungama frames the weekend against the franchise's own history. It says the original Drishyam finished with a lifetime collection of Rs 67.13 crore, and that Drishyam 2 finished at Rs 240.54 crore. On that basis it says the new film has collected "nearly 2.6 times" what the original did in three days.

The arithmetic checks out: Rs 174 crore divided by Rs 67.13 crore is about 2.59. By the same calculation, the three-day total is about 72% of Drishyam 2's lifetime figure, though that second comparison is mine and not Bollywood Hungama's. It is a measure of how far the franchise's audience has grown, but it compares a three-day total with two full theatrical runs, so it says more about scale than about trajectory.

Monday: the first drop

Sacnilk's Day 4 page, covering Monday, shows Rs 21.00 crore net, down from Rs 61.00 crore on Sunday. That is a fall of about 66%, by my arithmetic. The same page puts the total India net at Rs 197.50 crore and India gross at Rs 237.00 crore. Overseas is listed at Rs 66.00 crore cumulative and worldwide at Rs 303.00 crore.

Two cautions. First, this is an early Monday figure, which is my label. Sacnilk's own materials describe its numbers as estimates that can change as more data arrives, and the Day 3 figures are likely to be revised in the same way. Second, it is one tracker. Pinkvilla, Bollywood Hungama and Koimoi had not been read for Monday figures at the time of writing, so there is no second number to set against it.

On the size of the drop, general context helps. A steep fall from Sunday to Monday is normal for a big weekend-driven opening, because weekend audiences are the bulk of an opening. A weekday number is not directly comparable with a weekend number. The more useful reading comes from the following days: whether Tuesday and Wednesday hold near Monday's level or keep sliding. Those numbers do not exist yet, and I am not projecting them.

Overseas: a record for Devgn, per Pinkvilla

Pinkvilla's worldwide report puts the overseas weekend at USD 6.10 million, or about Rs 58 crore. Sunday alone was USD 1.95 million internationally, about Rs 18.50 crore. Pinkvilla calls this the career-best overseas opening for Ajay Devgn, surpassing a previous best of USD 4.50 million.

Adding the Rs 208 crore gross Pinkvilla reports from India, the outlet puts the worldwide opening weekend at about Rs 266 crore approx, which it also describes as a record for the lead star. Both are Pinkvilla's claims.

Its report names two standout markets: Australia at AUD 1.05 million and Canada at CAD 1.15 million. It also says most key overseas locations were at capacity, a "capacity crunch" in its framing, and expects strong weekdays. The outlet's stated expectation is that the film's target is to cross USD 15 million overseas, perhaps even USD 20 million. That is Pinkvilla's expectation and not a figure anyone has reported.

Compare the worldwide numbers across trackers and the same caution applies as in India. Sacnilk's Day 3 page shows Rs 272.80 crore worldwide gross, against Pinkvilla's roughly Rs 266 crore. The gap is about Rs 7 crore, roughly 2.6% by my arithmetic, which is about the same proportion as the spread between the India net figures. Sacnilk's India gross of Rs 211.80 crore is also higher than Pinkvilla's Rs 208 crore. Different gross methodologies and update times are the likeliest reasons, in general, though neither page spells it out. By Day 4, Sacnilk's worldwide figure is Rs 303.00 crore.

What the weekend tells us, and what it does not

Take the sources at face value and four things are reasonably solid. The film opened to roughly Rs 172 to 176.5 crore net in India. Friday and Sunday sat close together, with a Saturday dip in between. Overseas, per Pinkvilla, set a personal best for its lead. And the first weekday shows a steep fall in Sacnilk's early number.

What is not settled is just as important. The weekend total depends on which tracker you read, and those gaps will probably narrow as figures are revised. The ranking claims rest on different lists. Monday is one tracker's early estimate. And nothing in the numbers yet tells us how the second week will go. That depends on how the weekday figures stabilise, and on whether word of mouth, which the Day 1 post noted was mixed among critics, holds the audience.

The next real data points are the revised Monday figures and Tuesday's numbers when they land. Those will say more about the film's legs than the weekend did.

What Happens Next

Tuesday's numbers are not in yet. Watch whether Monday's early estimate holds after revision and how the trackers' weekday figures line up before the second weekend.
